Our Committment to Customers

1) To be Open and Honest with regards to the Therapeutic Claims
Any information we supply regarding to therapeutic properties and effects of our products, treatments and ingredients is based on research evidence.  We will not make false, misleading or exaggerated claims.

2) To use Natural Ingredients wherever possible.
Where this is not the case, this will be stated on the Product or Ingredient description.

  • Some products require small amounts of synthetic chemical preservaties (0.5 to 1% of final product weight) to ensure their safety against bacterial, yeast and fungal growth and also to increase the shelf life for customer use. We are also limited in the types of preservative we can used due to European Union Cosmetic Regulations.
  • We do not use Parabens for preservatives as there are human health and safety issues regarding this ingredient.
  • SLS (Sodium Laurel Sulfate) is also not used in our products.  This is a foaming, cleansing agent used in bubble baths, shampoos etc.  This too has numerous safety concerns.
  • We do not use Mineral Oil, Petrolatum

3) To purchase Raw Materials from sustainable sources, which do not pose a threat to the natural environment nor wildlife of the local area from which they are harvested.

4) To supply our products in functional but minimal packaging, which can be recycled/reused and to recycle/reuse packaging we receive from our suppliers.  We do not believe in using expensive or unecessary excessive packaging and would rather focus on supplying high quality ingredients and products at realistic prices instead.  We are active recyclers/reusers and encourage our customers to do so too.  Here is some information on our Packaging:

Plastic or Glass Bottles and Jars; Plastic Bags and Bubblewrap; Paper, Cardboard and Envelopes - all can be reused or recycled. We would like to switch to biodegradable plastic bags/bubblewrap but there are concerns as to whether they are actually better for the environment. Pleae click this link for further information.  So, there needs to be some product development before we start to use these.

Please contact your Local Council (or equivalent for Overseas customers) for you nearest recycling facilities.

Deli Pots: these are made of PLA (Polylactic Acid) and are biodegradable, compostable and toxin free as they decompose, they can also be washed and reused.  They are not currently accepted for recycling

5) To supply Ingredients and Products, which have not been tested on animals.

6) To use Vegetable derived Ingredients wherever possible
Where this is not the case, this will be stated on the Product or Ingredient description.
Some products will contain Dairy ingredients and therefore not suitable for vegans e.g milk powder, yoghurt powder.  No products will contain ingredients which are part of an animal.

7) To listen to the Needs of our Customers
We are always open to new suggestions and ideas for product, ingredient or treatment development.  Please do contact us with your much valued and appreciated input.

8) To provide High Quality Products, Ingredients and Treatments at Fair Prices.

9) To support Fair Trade wherever possible

We believe in Fair Trade for those Communities in the world who are disadvantaged by both  living in underdeveloped countries and by unfair trading practices.   At present, we sell Unrefined Castor oil purchased direct from a very small scale family run business in Jamaica, who in turn provide income and employment opportunities to their rural farming communities by purchasing their Castor seeds.  We also supply Fair Trade Organic Shea Butter, which has been certified by the Fair Trade Foundation.  With regards to other ingredients we are extremely limited due to a lack of Suppliers who offer Fair Trade items relevant to our business. This is a situation we are monitoring and we will expand in this area as more ingredients become available and at a price which realistically reflects the spending patterns of our customers.

10) Organic Ingredients
Any organic ingredients we purchase and use in making our products, will have undergone certification by the Soil Association or other Certification Body for ingredients which have been imported from overseas.
For further information, please visit the Soil Association.
