Many people suffer from sleep disorders, either finding it difficult to fall asleep or stay asleep or both. Lack of sleep causes stress, fatigue, irritability and reduces our ability to function well in every area of our life.
It is important to follow a practical night time routine which will help you to relax and switch off before sleep. Simple routines such as a warm bath, playing calming music, listening to short meditations, burning relaxing essential ois and yoga stretches can all help. Youtube is a great resource for calming music, night time yoga, mediations etc. If your mind is busy with worries or "to do lists" try writing some of what is chattering in your mind on to paper. Be open to experiment to see what works for you.
If you have a baby or young children that disrupt your sleep then try and schedule "me time" that is away from home that helps you to relax and recharge your batteries.
Just a note on Lavender essential oil, be careful to avoid too much Lavender before you sleep. Whilst it is calming, if you use too much it can become stimulating and keep you awake.

You could also place 3 drops of essential oil in a bowl of hot water, put a towel over your head and steam for 5 to 10 mins. This method is not suitable for people with respiratory conditions.
Vitality essential oil blend is also helpful if you are often tired due to broken sleep.
