Allergy Awareness Week

Today is the start of the Allergy Awareness Week, so I wanted to share some of the holistic treatments I provide and natural, organic products which Neal's Yard sell which can help ease the symptoms of certain allergies.

In terms of treatments, Hopi Ear Candling can help with certain symptoms such as ears, nose or throat irritation and congestion. The treatment also includes a mini facial massage with essential oils which help to decongest and soothe irritation.  If your skin is irritated then either the Neal's Yard Organic or the Skin Soothe Facials  would be ideal.

I also sell Hopi Ear Candles and customsied organic aromatherapy oils so can make blends for allergy symptoms.

With regards to organic products which can help with allergies, here are my top picks:

Super-Antioxidant Boost Protects us from free radical damage, which may lower immune function & make us more susceptible to Hay fever. Antioxidants are crucial in towns & cities where allergic symptoms are worsened by pollution. Turmeric, Grape seed, Green tea, Bilberry & Selenium are combined into a potent anti-inflammatory & antioxidant rich powerhouse. Bursting with flavonoids to strengthen capillaries & boost immunity.

B Vitamins are crucial for healthy immune function & improving energy levels. Vitamin B6 balances histamine levels, which is essential with allergies

Vitamin C Boost with Wild Rosehip Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant, boosting immunity & helping to control excess histamine levels – take up to 2000mg daily in split doses when needed.

These are useful essential oils to blend & use in a diffuser or as a steam inhalation.  You could also add a couple of drops to a tissue and if you are a lady, pop the tissue in your bra.

  • Eucalyptus and Peppermint to decongest & help easy breathing
  • Rosemary for improved energy, clarity & focus
  • Peppermint to decongest,
  • Grapefruit to help revitalise energy levels when allergies make you feel drained.

White Tea Toning Eye Gel Cooling Aloe vera combined with toning Eyebright to soothe hot, irritated eyes. Keep this saviour in the fridge to maximise its cooling freshness for the eyes.

If allergies affect your skin, making it inflamed and itchy, the following would also be useful

For the Body: Calendula and Oat Lotion, Calendula Cream, Stellaria Cream or Lavender and Aloe Cream

For the Face:

Calendula Cleanser or Starflower Cleansing Milk,

White Tea Facial Mist  this can be used to tone the skin and also throughout the day when it is warm and any skin irritations are aggravated.

Starflower Daily Moisturiser

The soothing starflower products are also available as a collection, saving you 15% on the individual product prices.

I hope this has been of use to you.  If you would like further information, please visit Allergy UK.  They are a charity and provide a range of information to help people who live with allergies, as well as for organisations who want to find out more about the issues that people with allergic disease face in their daily lives.

Until next time

Note: if you are taking any medication, please consult your GP before taking any supplements.  Always read the health and safety information when using essential oils, especially with children, sick or vulnerable adults.  Always dilute essential oils in an appropriate base product if applying to your skin. If you have respiratory issues, then please avoid using the inhalation method when using essential oils.
