Today is Earth Day and the focus this year is to reduce plastic pollution.
"Scientists predict that if nothing changes in our plastic consumption habits, by 2050 there will be
more plastic in the oceans than there are fish (by weight)"
The Earth Day Network have produced an action plan toolkit which you can download here.
As you may or may not know I am an independent consultant for Neal's Yard and they are active campaingers on various environmental issues. One of their most recent campaigns has been the ban on the use of plastic microbeads used in cosmetics. These tiny particles are often used in exfoliators and when washed down the sink end up polluting the oceans.
Happy Earth Day, until next time
